A BRASS OVAL STEAM LOCOMOTIVE WORKSPLATE “HUDSWELL CLARKE & CO LTD ENGRAVED No. 1649 LEEDS 1931”. As carried by a 0-6-0 O.C.ST. Named “ELIZIBERTH” Went new to Denby Grange Colliery, Derbyshire the pit closed in 1933, then sold to Cliff Edwards, Hove, Sussex, by 1947 then it went to the NCB Nott’s area No4 and went back to Hudswell Works to be re-built, it emerged and went to work at Annesley & Sutton Colliery’s between 1948-1957 finally transferred to Kirby in Ashfield to work at Kirby Colliery as NCB No 32 then was withdrawn and stored out in the open until being scrapped in 1967. Front & back ex loco condition.

Hindlip Hall is situated 2 miles NNE of Worcester, now the West Midlands Police Headquarters.   Allocations included 86C Cardiff Canton, 81C Southall, 83A Newton Abbot, 82C Swindon, 83B Taunton from where it was withdrawn and stored 9.62-5.645. Cut up at Cashmores, Newport, 6.64. Front restored some years ago, back totally ex-loco condition. Right hand side plate, never been offered in auction before.

A TOTEM “LYMINGTON PIER” BR (S) Light Green. Made and put up by South West Train for there “Heritage Line” between Brockenhurst, Lymington Town and the Pier which serves the Passenger traffic over to the Isle- of Wight. Ex station condition.

A  BRASS OVAL LOCOMOTIVE  CABSIDE  NUMBERPLATE "513 14A" from the Rhodesian Railways Class 14A , 3ft 6in gauge 2-6-2 + 2-6-2 Garratt locomotive built by Beyer Peacock, Manchester in 1953, Works No.7586. Later transferred to the National Railways of Zimbabwe. This class of loco was allocated to Salisbury, Bulawayo, and Gwelo, but all eventually were concentrated at the latter two locations. A few locos of the class that were rebuilt by ZECO in the early eighties still survive at Bulawayo shed and see occasional use. In nice restored condition.

A Brass Locomotive Nameplate “LYONESSE”. As carried by the Southern Railway King Arthur Class N15 4-6-0 locomotive No. 743 later BR 30743. Built by L.S.W.R. at Eastleigh in 1919 the first batch of 20 built nameless until 1925 when the Southern Railway company applied the names. Allocated mainly at Stewarts Lane up to 1959. Transferred to Eastleigh in its final years. It was withdrawn in October 1961 and broken up in January 1962. A superb plate in ex loco on the back and clearly stamped 743. Purchased from Eastleigh Works in 1956 for £2.00.

Other allocations included Wrexham (6E), Chester Northgate (6D) and Llandudno Jct. (6G) from where it was withdrawn and stored from 10/64 to 12/64. It was cut up at Hughes, Bolckows Ltd. North Blyth 2/65. Bottom left hand corner missing. This can clearly be seen missing while still fitted on the engine. Ex Loco Condition.

The East Fife Central Railway was a 14 miles long single track branch freight railway. The line was authorised in 1893, and in 1895 during construction the line became part of the North British Railway. The line opened in 1898 as a freight line. An intended extension to Kingsbarns never materialised. The line closed on 1st August 1964 apart for a short section that became the Lochty Light Railway (or Lochty Private Railway) which itself closed in 1992.

The name was applied in May 1963 and carried through until withdrawal in September 1984. Cast alloy nameplate, with Regimental Crest, fitted to a steel back plate, still showing original bolt threads on the rear. Front and back in Ex Loco condition. A rare opportunity to acquire one of the famous Regimental Nameplates. A G.W.R. BRASS LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATE “POLAR STAR” As carried by the Churchward designed 4000 Star Class 4-6-0 No. 4005, the locomotive which took part in the 1910 locomotive exchange with the LNWR. Built in 1907, this famous locomotive ran 1,2 million miles before withdrawal in 1934, Old Oak Common being its final shed. It is believed that this plate went to the Railwayman’s Home in Didcot before being acquired by Frank Burridge for display in his Bournemouth museum. It was bought from Frank Burridge by the present keeper in 1987 and has never been offered in public auction before. Right hand plate marked ‘4005’ on the beading and ‘4005R’ on the back plate. The face is unpolished.
