Great Western Railway 12inch dial clock. G.W.R. No 2725 Ex Birmingham Snow Hill. A 12 inch mahogany cased trunk dial clock with a spun brass bezel manufactured for the G.W.R.1890-1900 by Kay & Co of Worcester.
The quality English chain driven fusee movement with rectangular plates that are held together by turned tapered pillars, is in fully restored and guaranteed condition. The characteristics of this movement point to a clock manufactured between 1890-1900.
A white enamel painted dial displaying Roman numerals and the GWR in the 1930's Roundel device, surrounded by a spun brass bezel with a plastered in sight ring.
A traditional English dial trunk case manufactured out of mahogany. A turned convex surround affixed to the back box by two battens with four tapered pegs, the back box is of traditional late 19TH century design with two side access doors and a bottom door secured with a brass lock.
