Lot 108 A Very Rare GWR Solid Brass 'STROKE COUNTER'. Titled "GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY - SWINDON". From a stationary Beam Engine - almost certainly one of those which worked in the Sudbrook Pumping Station to keep the Severn Tunnel clear, until they were replaced by electric pumps - around 1959. Date from about 1885. Complete with lock and ratchet handle. A very fine piece indeed. Superb condition.
