German "DB" Steel Locomotive Smokebox Number Plate "50 3688" As carried by a class 50 -2-10-0freight and mixed traffic locomotive. Built1940by Skoda locomotive works in Pilsen, works number 1175. January 1941: Acceptance by Deutsche Reichsbahn as 50 1096. Reconstruction 23 Sept. 1961 - 19 Oct. 1961 by Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) in Stendal, German Democratic Republic (East Germany). 19 Oct 1961: renumbered "50 3688". 01 June 1970: renumbered "50 3688-4" under the new East German (DR) numbering scheme (check sum "-4" added). 1st January 1992: renumbered "050 688-1" under the "Deutsche Bahn AG" numbering scheme. 16 Sept. 1998: withdrawn. 1998 Leased to a steam engine preservation society / railway museum at Arnstadt loco shed, Germany. Still there on display and for driver training (numbered "50 3688-4"). So it carried the number plate "50 3688" from 19th Oct. 1961 to 1st June 1970.
