Lot 250 LMS Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "THE HERTFORDSHIRE REGIMENT" As carried by a Stanier rebuild of a Fowler design ex LMS 4-6-0 No "46167" built at Derby Works in October 1930. Allocations included Crewe North, Camden, Carlisle Upperby, Preston, Bushbury, Warrington Springs Branch, Wigan, Holyhead, Willesden and Annesley from where it was withdrawn in April 1964.Cut up at Crewe Works 05/64. The Hertfordshire was a line infantry regiment of the Territorial Army. Originating in units of Rifle Volunteers formed in 1859, the regiment served in the Boer War, First and Second World wars before losing its identity in 1961. FIRST TIME IN AUCTION.
