Lot 97C Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "LULWORTH CASTLE" As carried by a Collett designed ex GWR 4-6-0 No "5003" built at Swindon works in May 1927. Allocations included Old Oak Common, Taunton, Exeter, Swindon, Plymouth Laira, Carmarthen, Cardiff Canton and Newton Abbot from where it was withdrawn in August 1962. Cut up at Cashmore's Newport, South Wales 12/62. This is a first time in auction for this particular plate which was purchased direct from Swindon by the vendor. Lulworth Castle is situated in East Lulworth, Wareham, Dorset and is an early 17th century mock castle. Guide: £8000 - 10000
