Lot 51 Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "HARTLAND" As carried by a Bulleid designed West Country class Pacific 4-6-2 No 34101, built at Eastleigh Works in February 1950 and rebuilt in September 1960. Allocations included Bricklayers Arms, Brighton, Nine Elms, Stewarts Lane and Eastleigh from where it was withdrawn in July 1966. Having spent 12 years at Barry Scrapyard it was subsequently purchased for preservation and currently resides at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway where it is undergoing restoration. This plate was purchased direct from the foreman at Salisbury shed in 1967 whilst the locomotive was stored there en route to Woodham Bros, South Wales. This plate is first time in auction and is in ex loco condition.
