Lot 14 Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "RALEIGH". As carried by a W. Stanier designed ex LMS Class 6P 4-6-0 Number "45639" built at Crewe Works in December 1934. Allocations included Crewe North, Derby, Preston, Sheffield Millhouses, Kentish Town, Trafford Park, Carlisle Upperby, Longsight, Edge Hill, Llandudno Jct, Nottingham and Leeds Holbeck from where it was withdrawn in September 1963. Cut up at Crewe Works 01/64. The plate has six bolt holes and is from the driver's side. The rim and back are totally ex-loco. Recovered by the late vendor at the end of steam and never before offered at auction.
