Lot 16 Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "WESTERN AUSTRALIA". As carried by a W. Stanier designed ex LMS Class 6P 4-6-0 Number "45568" built by the North British Locomotive Co, Glasgow in August 1934. Allocations included Crewe North, Camden, Preston, Blackpool, Patricroft, Toton and Leeds Holbeck from where it was withdrawn in April 1964. Cut up by Drapers, Hull 01/65. This is the fireman's side plate and has seven bolt holes. There is a distinct kink in the plate from the 'S' back to 'W'. Recovered by the late vendor at the end of steam and never before offered at auction.
