NER Signalbox Nameboard "WORMALD GREEN. Cast letters on wood. Situated on the Harrogate-Ripon line, it ceased normal function on March 4, 1967 but was re-opened specially to allow northbound expresses only to traverse the closed line following the crash at Cod Beck, Thirsk on the ECML on August 31, 1967 involving DP2 locomotive hitting the derailed Cliffe-Uddingston cement train. It remained open for this duty until August 2 after which trainmen opened and closed the gates for the freight service to Ripon/Melmerby. As removed condition.
