Lot 100 Nameplate "THE LEICESTERSHIRE REGIMENT" As carried by a LMS Class 7P Patriot 4-6-0 No. 5987, built at Crewe in 1932, renumbered 5503 in 1934, becoming B.R No. 45503. Named on 8 July 1938 by Brigadier General B.C Dent at a ceremony held at Leicester London Road station, it was renamed without ceremony on 3rd November 1948 at The Royal Leicestershire Regiment, using the original regimental badges. Allocations included Willesden and Carlisle, it was finally withdrawn from Upperby in August 1961 and taken to Crewe Works where cutting up was completed by the end of September 1962. 52.5in long, the front repainted. The nameplate is presented with a replica badge in cast brass.
