Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "CODRINGTON". As carried by a W. Stanier designed ex LMS Class 6P 4-6-0 Number "45676" built at Crewe Works in December 1935. Allocations included Carlisle Upperby, Camden, Edge Hill, Carnforth, Saltley, Willesden and Crewe North from where it was withdrawn in September 1964. Cut up at Cashmore's, Great Bridge 01/65. The plate has six bolt holes and comes from the fireman's side, ex-loco front and back. Recovered by the late vendor at the end of steam and never before offered at auction. Guide: £8000-10000 |
