Lot 9 Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "MADRAS". As carried by a W. Stanier designed ex LMS Class 6P 4-6-0 Number "45575" built by the North British Locomotive Co, Glasgow in September 1934. Allocations included Crewe North, Camden, Carlisle Upperby, Carlisle Kingmoor, Polmadie, Corkerhill, Perth, Kentish Town, Nottingham, Derby and Burton from where it was withdrawn in June 1963. Cut up at Crewe Works 10/63. Six bolt holes in the plate with the holes having been painted a long time ago, plate ex loco front and back. Recovered by the late vendor at the end of steam and never before offered at auction.
