C/I Steam Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate "45110" - the VERY LAST BR PASSENGER SERVICE NUMBERPLATE - as carried by a Stanier designed ex LMS Class 5MT 4-6-0 built at the Vulcan Foundry, Newton-Le-Willows, Lancs in June 1935. Allocations included Holyhead, Stafford, Bolton and Lostock Hall from where it was withdrawn in August 1968. This was the last BR owned standard gauge steam locomotive to haul a service on the national network. It took the first leg from Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Victoria at the beginning of the famous 'FIFTEEN GUINEA SPECIAL' railtour on 11 August 1968, before running from Manchester Victoria to Liverpool Lime Street with the returning train at the end of the tour. The loco was purchased straight from service for preservation and was based at the nascent Ashford Steam Centre where it was named 'RAF Biggin Hill' and subsequently purchased by the Severn Valley Railway where it has been based since then. Ex-loco front and back. Complete with original BR receipt for £2 from Bolton MPD.

C/I Steam Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate "30750". As carried by a Urie/Maunsell designed ex LSWR/SR King Arthur class N15 4-6-0 named "MORGAN LE FAY", built at Eastleigh works in October 1922. Allocations included Bournemouth, Eastleigh, Nine Elms and Basingstoke from where it was withdrawn in July 1957. Cut up at Eastleigh works 08/57. Front and back ex-loco.

C/I Steam Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate "31480". As carried by a Wainwright designed C Class ex S.E & C.R /BR 0-6-0 built at Longhedge Works, London, in January 1904. Mainly allocated to the London Division, its early days being spent at Hither Green and latterly at Bricklayers Arms from where it was withdrawn in July 1961. Cut up at Ashford works in July 1961. Ex Loco condition.

Allocations included Exmouth Jct, Stewarts Lane, Eastleigh, Bricklayers Arms, Brighton and Redhill from where it was withdrawn in September 1964. Cut up at Settle Speakman & Co Ltd, Queenborough, Kent 12/64. Front and back ex-loco.

Cut up at Cashmore's Great Bridge 06/68. Restored front and back.

Front restored, Ex-loco back.

Allocations included Crewe South, Walsall, Crewe North, Bescot, Saltley and Heaton Mersey from where it was withdrawn in October 1967. Cut up at Buttigiegs, Newport, South Wales 06/68. Inscribed on reverse 'MNA' relating to the 'Master Neverers Association' - an informal title of a group of BR steam photographers that visited sheds in the last days of steam and befriended staff so they could clean restored engines for photographs and ask for 'smoke by arrangement!' Front and back ex-loco.

Allocated to only Newton Heath and Agecroft from where it was withdrawn in March 1961. Cut up at Horwich works 05/61. Comes with original BTC paperwork for sum of 4shillings in 1961. Ex-loco front and back.

Seemingly only allocated to Glasgow Corkerhill throughout its working life it was withdrawn from there in May 1961. Cut up at BR Carriage & Wagon works, Heatheryknowe, Coatbridge, Scotland 08/61. Ex-loco front and back.

Comes with original BR paperwork for 7s/ 6d in July 1961. Ex-loco front and back.

Allocated to only Wakefield throughout its working life it was withdrawn from here in February 1965. Cut up at T.W. Ward. Beighton, Sheffield 06/65. Front and back restored.

Ward, Beighton, Sheffield 04/66. Front and back restored.

C/I Steam Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate "62712". As carried by Gresley designed ex LNER Class D49/1 4-4-0 named "MORAYSHIRE" built at Darlington Works in February 1928. Allocations included Perth, Edinburgh Haymarket, Edinburgh St. Margarets, Thornton Jct and Hawick from where it was withdrawn in July 1961. Prior to withdrawal it was used as a stationery boiler at Slateford Laundry in June 1961, subsequently stored at Hawick between 7/61 and 01/62 and Dalry Road between 02/62 and 12/63 it eventually moved for restoration to Inverurie works in August 1964. Before restoration it was purchased privately by Mr Ian N. Fraser of Arbroath who donated it to the National Museum of Scotland eventually moving to the Boness & Kinneil Railway in Scotland where it has remained since and is currently awaiting a further return to steam. This number plate was removed By Mr Fraser at the time the loco was purchased from BR and is being offered for sale by the group who are fundraising for the final stages of restoring his other ex-BR locomotive Ivatt 2MT No. 46464. In superb Ex-loco Condition as removed.
