Lot 148 C/I Steam Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate "70032" as carried by a Riddles designed BR standard class 4-6-2 named 'TENNYSON'. Built at Crewe Works in December 1952. Allocations included Holyhead, Longsight, Trafford Park, Willesden, Carlisle Upperby and Carlisle Kingmoor from where it was withdrawn in September 1967. Cut up at J. McWillam, Shettleston, Glasgow 02/68. Alfred Lord Tennyson was an English Poet born between August 1809 and October 1892. BR weld repair to rear. Comes with original Sheffield Auction receipt, dated 1998.
