Alloy Welsh Dragon Shield Insert. Ex-"CAMBRIAN RADIO CRUISE" Headboard. Engraved 'SHIELD CAMB RADIO CRUISE' to rear. The first Cruise train operated in 1951, at the time of the Festival of Britain, originally christened 'Festival Land Cruise'. The principle was a circular run with comfortable coaches and included Cambrian Radio Cruise (Barmouth, BalU, Rhyl, Llandudno, Bangor, Criccieth), North Wales Radio Cruise and The Welsh Chieftain - all with special headboards. Their final season was in 1961. Ex-service condition.
