Lot 140 C/I Steam Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate "60149". As carried by a Thompson/Peppercorn designed class A1 4-6-2 named "AMADIS", built at Darlington works in May1949. Allocations included Grantham, Kings Cross and Doncaster from where it was withdrawn in June 1964. Cut up at Cox & Danks, Wadsley Bridge, Sheffield 01/65. 'AMADIS' is the name of a racehorse that won the Doncaster Cup in 1909. Restored face, rear ex-loco.
