Lot 449 | Alloy Electro-Diesel Nameplate Badges ex BROADLANDS. These are the original two badges depicting the coat of arms of Test Valley and Borough of Romsey and were fitted below the nameplate when carried by 73142 previously E6049 and later 73201. The loco was named at Romsey station on 25/9/80 by Lord Romsey and carried until 4/99 by which time it was a Gatwick Express loco numbered 73201. This loco was used to haul the empty stock for the Mountbatten funeral train on 5/9/79 and was the first Class 73 to be named. It was renamed BROADLANDS again on 21/5/09 during the centenary of Eastleigh Works celebrations and is still in service with GB Railfreight. Ex-loco condition. |
