Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate DINMORE MANOR As carried by a Collett designed 78xx class 4-6-0 No. 7820 built at Swindon works in November 1950. Allocations included Oswestry, Machynlleth, Aberystwyth, Chester (GWR), Plymouth Laira, Truro, St. Blazey, Cardiff Canton, Cardiff East Dock, Oxley and Shrewsbury from where it was withdrawn in November 1965 and subsequently ending up at Woodham’s, Barry Dock. It was purchased from there for preservation in1979 and currently resides at the Gloucester and Warwickshire Railway. This plate is from the right-hand side i.e. Driver’s side of the Locomotive and is in ex Loco condition. DINMORE MANOR is a large rural house in Herefordshire which was substantially rebuilt in the 16th Century altered around 1830 and extended in 1928.
