Diesel Locomotive Nameplate CARDIFF CANTON. As carried by Class 56 56044. New to Toton 5/78. Named at Cardiff Canton Depot on 9/8/91 by George Wright, depot boilersmith. The nameplates were removed around 12/00 when the loco was stored at Immingham. Withdrawn 7/05 and scrapped at C F Booth, Rotherham during 9/07. The name ‘Cardiff Canton’ later carried by 37422 (1/03-3/11), 37254 (4/17-) and 37714 (3/17- in preservation). Rectangular cast aluminium in ex-loco condition.
