33 A C/I CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE "GWR 79" as carried by ex-Rhymney Railway 0-6-2T No. 36 built in August 1921. Absorbed into GWR stock on 1st January 1923 and renumbered accordingly. For many years a resident at Cardiff Docks, Caerphilly, Dowlais and Rhymney. In 1954 it was moved from Radyr to Swindon Works and was cut up in 1955. Restored front, back in ex-loco condition. Rare and very difficult to obtain an example with the letters GWR and only two-figure numbers. Supplied with Bill Peto's very detailed historical data. £2500

100 LNER/BR Brass Locomotive Nameplate "GUY MANNERING" as carried by a Peppercorn designed A1 Class 4-6-2 Locomotive No "60129" built at Doncaster Works in June 1949. Allocations included Gateshead, Tweedmouth, Heaton and York from where it was withdrawn in October 1965. Cut up at Kings Norwich in November 1965. Guy Mannering is a novel by Sir Walter Scott published anonymously in 1815. Complete with Original BR Paper Work when purchased in August 1965 at a cost of £15.00. 103A Ex Caledonian Railway Signal Box Signal Lever Board from "QUINTINSHILL SIGNAL BOX". In three sections comprising of all the lever numbers as they were in the frame. As removed condition. One hundred years ago, on 22 May 1915, the UK witnessed its worst ever rail crash at Quintinshill, near Gretna Green, when 5 trains were involved in a collision on the Caledonian Railway resulting in a huge fire and over 220 deaths, with a further 240 people injured. What an incredible discovery as this is the Centenary this year of this disaster!!!!! £400

Built by the Southern Railway in June 1928. The Lord Nelsons were the most powerful of their wheel arrangement in Britain until the GWR introduced the King Class. Allocated mainly at 71A Eastleigh. It was withdrawn in February 1962 and stored at Ashford Works and broken up there March 1962. A superb plate, Face polished, back ex loco. One of the top shelf nameplates for Southern Railway collectors.

One plate is the manufacturer's Worksplate the other is the United States Transportation Corps plate referencing the contract and the fact the loco was supplied to France. Matched pairs of these plates are very rare. These locomotives were the last of French steam in service lasting into the 1970s. Front cleaned rear in ex loco condition. £450
