Diesel Locomotive Nameplate "HILLHEAD '93" The Name was carried by a Class 60 Diesel Locomotive No. 60 082, Applied at Hillhead Quarry on 15th June 1993, Removed 17th June 1993. Size 40" x 14". The plate was fitted by Jack Hobbs, President of the institute of Quarrying to mark the World's Biggest Quarry Exhibition. The name was applied over "MAM TOR". The loco was delivered to the exhibition site 'unnamed' by EWS. On the first day of the show there was a naming ceremony and the 'Hillhead 93' plates were fitted to the loco for the 3 days of the show. There were only 2 plates. After the loco went back to EWS the temporary plates were removed and the Mam Tor plates reinstalled. |
